Redecorate your living room with coffered frames
The living room makeover was once again a collaboration with Laura Wolter from Oursweetliving. As with the hallway makeover (instructions available here), Laura and Victor begin by measuring, laying out the wall mouldings and marking the wall. If you find measuring difficult, feel free to use tools such as a line laser. You can also make a sketch in advance to determine the correct spacing and length of the mouldings. Ready to transform your living room into an oasis of well-being?
What you need for the DIY project:
Step by step...
Before you start attaching the wall mouldings, make sure that the walls are clean, smooth and dry. Remove old wallpaper or paint if necessary and smooth out any uneven areas with sandpaper or filler.
Then you can move straight on to the frames for the panels. You will have already cut the wall mouldings to size according to your sketch or markings.
Tip: Here you can see once again how to easily mitre cut wall mouldings.
Now mark the positions of the wall panels on the wall and use a spirit level or line laser to ensure that everything is straight. Apply the universal adhesive to the back of the wall moulding and press the moulding onto the wall in the desired position. For additional support, you can secure the mouldings with masking tape. Now allow everything to dry thoroughly.
Now it's time to start painting. Once the mouldings are in place, paint the entire wall or just the panels with a colour of your choice. You can find a wide range of different colours at DIY stores or online to suit your style or the atmosphere you want to create. Laura has opted for white colours in her living room for now.
Finishing touches...
Once the paint has dried, the furniture can be put back in its place. Cushions, woollen blankets and rugs add a cosy touch to your living room. Stylish decorations also create a harmonious contrast.
